Scones - for Afternoon Tea or Elevenses or Your Morning Cuppa
As The Resident Tea Snob over at that wonderful Britophile blog Smitten by Britain, I've taken it upon myself to point out the necessity of every self-respecting Britophile knowing How to Make a Proper Scone as well as a proper cup of tea! Lovely Jean! I haven't had a decent scone in ages. Living in France they don't really have such things here - Starbucks sells... something... called a "scone", but it's more like a dry, powdery lump with hard raisin pellets inside :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Charles! Yes, few places here have good scones. They're usually very dry, as you say, and overly sweet AND, worst of all, made with shortening.

ReplyDeleteAlways happy to have a proper scone recipe, as you can never find good ones anywhere, unless you have an old English auntie. I will definitely be trying these!
